About The Juniors
The Coffs Harbour Junior Surf Club is a Committee of the Coffs Harbour Surf Lifesaving Club and is run by a Committee which is elected at an Annual General Meeting held annually in April
Our aim is to introduce juniors to the surf by teaching them the many facets of surf awareness and surf safety. The club does not teach swimming. Various competitive activities are incorporated into the program to give the youngsters incentive to improve their surf skills. The club runs a surf education program, which provides instruction on surf awareness and surf safety skills leading to the Surf Rescue Certificate.
We encourage all junior members to become involved in surf patrols as cadets and to eventually become fully qualified lifesavers. We try to accomplish this whilst providing a social and fun environment for the whole family.
Normal juniors activities are held at Park Beach on a Sunday. Marshalling commences at 8.45am and activities finish around 11.00am. Occasionally we relocate to the Jetty Beach when prevailing weather conditions prohibit activities on Park Beach.
Age Managers organise each age groups activities in accordance with a program overseen by the Club Superintendent.
Activities include: Swims, Boards, Wading, Iron Person, Beach Flags, Beach Sprints, Novelty Events, Surf Education Programs and Rescue and Resuscitation.
